Pretty Lil' things

So, new mini-blog Pretty Li'l Things is making it's debut. I'm taking all kinds of design classes right now, and I keep running into clever little ideas that I love and I want to put them all together in one place. There you go! Ignore it, or agree with my wonderful taste. ;) I guess a lot of what I love comes from our house in Lewiston ID. It had a laundry shoot! So awesome.

Little of what's been going down:

I "sliced" my thumb, some how when I said I "cut off" my thumb people got the wrong idea.
I locked the keys in the car...again.
we are almost done with the semester!
The kia has officially been dubbed the Silver BB (To give some context, my families huge bus of a van is called the Silver Bullet.)
Oatmeal raisin cookies are Austin's favorite--go figure I always thought the only reason you put raisins in something is to ruin it.
The weather is warming up
Thus far I am dominating at one-on-one rummy cube with the A-man.
I can't wait to see Shawnie and Austin's parents

That's that!

"They just popped out of the snow, like daisies!"

Spring is coming. I know because the crocuses are poking out and the tulips and daffodils are sneaking up behind them.

This morning I was all ready to pull on my Capri's and flip-flops when I looked out the window and it was a blizzard! Ah well, patience.

Summer Plans

Federal Way here we come!!!! We are officially flying to Washington at the end of Finals week and spending some time with Austin's amazing family.

Then it's off to Iowa with Linx summer sales. I get to be the office administrator this year so we will both be busy and saving for law and business school. Then in the Fall it's back to BYU for our last year here. It's hard to believe graduation is only one year away.

:D Other notes: we are happy, healthy, and learning.

St. Patrick's Day!!

Well it's here. The green happy, Irish kissing, leprechaun catching, lucky charm eating time of year! Following the Brown tradition we will be having a green dinner in celebration.

Cream of Broccoli Soup
Deviled Eggs (with green yolks)
Chicken Artichoke Pizza with Spinach
Green Salad
Green Jello
Cheesy Toast with Green Bell Peppers (shaped like Shamrocks)
Green citrus slushies
Some amazing green dessert
and no beer

Apparently Austin has some issues with his Irish ancestry because he has shown some disinterest in honoring "some random Catholic priest." However, I'm afraid there is just no stopping me, this morning, after a emerald breakfast, I pulled together every Kelly colored clothing item I possess, painted a shamrock on my face and did a jig out to the door to school! We did forgo setting Leprechaun traps last night. I guess that tradition will have to wait until we have kids, but I must say I missed waking up to see if I'd caught one in my jimmy-rigged box baited with Lucky Charms. I'll never forget one year when a Leprechaun left green footprints all over the kitchen and some orange yarn hair on my hairbrush. Sneaky little guys!

My cousin Jaron came home from an honorable full time mission in South Korea. So naturally all the Brown's got together and Aunt Joy made fabulous food. My family came down on Saturday and the plan was to have them and my grandparents over for dinner. A snowstorm, a fender bender, snow chains, and six hours later, our 4pm-7:30pm party became a 7pm-1:30 party, and we decided it would be best if they just stayed the night at our house! So, after spaghetti and a cute homevideo they brought everyone found a bit of floor, we got out the air mattress and unfolded the futon. This is what it looked like the next morning:

We had a pancake breakfast and we were off!

Belly Buttons

I think Reece made up this game. The idea was to poke the other person's belly button before they poked yours. As Tori reminds Reece, :) One had is supposed to be behind your back.

Just one of the many reasons I love Austin

It isn't hard to imagine a little Austin Jr. sitting on his lap doing calculus homework instead of Benjamin Sewell, is it.

Two Questions...

My Interior Design Professor showed us this in class for comic relief and I died laughing. I thought I'd spread the smiles:

Life really boils down to 2 questions...

Should I get a dog?

or Have children?

Big Smile!

Kids say the darn'dest things!

Two-year-old Benjamin and Austin get along great. They sing Hakuna Matata together, play with animals, and clean up the mess. Austin likes to tease, big surprise I know, so sometimes Benjamin will ask,

Benjamin: "Where's Benjamin?"

Austin: "I'm Benjamin!"

Benjamin: (frustrated face)"No, my Benjamin!"

So the other day the following conversation took place.

Austin: "Benjamin, isn't Sister Fife a fox!"

Ben: "No, my fox!"

Austin: (shaking a pretend fist in the air) "ooooh no, that's MY fox."
